A very special soccer match took place this weekend in Dublin.
The local team lined out in their yellow kit, as per usual, but their opponents had to travel a little further. Al-Helal Football Team travelled all the way from Gaza, in Palestine to play the match. Their players were aged between nine and fourteen, and for many it was their first time outside of Gaza.
The children met with the Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland, and the Lord Mayor of Dublin, and will travel to Wexford and Tipperary later in the week.
Ahead of the Olympic Games beginning next weekend, this event shows the importance of play for every child, everywhere.
