WIN a FREE trip to SpaceHack 2016 hackathon in Berlin!
The DCU Ryan Academy are looking to send 20 hackathon enthusiasts to "SpaceHack" - a major international hackathon taking place in Berlin on 4th & 5th June. They will pay for your flights, accommodation and hackathon tickets. The theme of SpaceHack is "The Refugee Journey" - how can technology make living conditions better for refugees. Europe’s best business minds, designers, engineers, coders, architects and urban planners (with and without refugee status) are gathering to discover how technology can improve living conditions for displaced people around the world. Spacehack is organised by Factory Berlin and funded by the Welcome project and Startup Europe under the EU Commission. Applications are open now and will close on Friday 6th May.
The hackathon brings together Europe’s best designers, coders, architects and urban planners (with and without refugee status) to discover how technology can improve living conditions for displaced people around the world. They are opening up their six-story building in the center
of Berlin and partnering with best in class technology and social activist organizations across Europe to take on real challenges migrants face in their journey. You will have 24 hours to prototype and pitch your ideas for the chance to win some amazing prizes.
The Refugee Journey:
There are many points along a refugee's journey where space negatively affects their goals. Along with our partners we are working with people who have made this journey and asking them to share their stories and pain points anonymously so we can come up with real solutions together.
